Holding a Player during a Timeline Event!
Objective: Create an animation for your player during Timeline Events!
We have all played a game where a cutscene starts and the camera goes away from the player while an event plays out. During that time the player goes into an idle animation or maybe a reaction animation. In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to achieve this.
In the Timeline we are going to add our player armature as an animation track.
We can now go into our animations and drop one onto the armature’s animation track.
Now stretch it out, loop it, and add an ease in and ease out.
Play the editor and see how the animation looks.
Well, this is a simple fix. With the Idle selected, in the inspector we need to select the clip transform offsets and place the character model in the proper location/rotation.
Now when you play the editor you character should animate right where you want them.
This looks great! Now you know how to create animations for your character in interactive Timelines! Don’t be afraid to experiment with your timelines and add you own flair! I’ll see you in the next tutorial!
