Make a Character Manually Change Position with Timeline’s Animation Track
Objective: Understand how to manually change character positions with animation tracks on Timeline!
If you have an animation for your character that should be moving its position and for whatever reason it doesn’t this is going to show you how you can manually add the physical movement to your animation. This is not a super common issue but a good tool to have in your arsenal.
If you press the record button, you will see a warning. You cannot record on a character animation. However, you can add a second animation track.
Now on the new track you can hit the record button and select your model and create a key frame. Move to the end of your Timeline and place your character in the location you want them to end up making another key frame.
You will notice that there is an ease in effect to the character movement. You can fix this by going into the curve and you can right click and select Right Tangent and set to Linear and this will start animating immediately.
This is how you can manually force a character to change position, as well as show you can have more than one animation track on a single object to do specific things on Timeline!
